Perchy
The short version
- Perchy puts crypto prices, charts, price alerts and a converter in the notch, next to music, calendar, clipboard and files. Prices are refreshed every minute with Pro and every 5 minutes on Free.
- Boring Notch: free, open source. Perchy: Free, no time limit, or Pro at $14.99 once for 2 Macs, with 7 days of Pro on every new Mac.
- Of the table’s 19 rows, 6 are in both and 8 are listed only for Perchy.
- Facts about Boring Notch come only from its own pages, as of 2026-10-17; a dash means they don’t list it.

What Boring Notch’s own pages say
#- Free and open source, for macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
- It has no Apple Developer account, so macOS warns about an unidentified developer when you open it.
- It has a shelf with AirDrop. Version 2.7 added lock screen support and lyrics in beta; a Join meeting button appears only in the 2.8 release candidates. A Bluetooth live activity is on its roadmap.
